TRANSLATIONS

Our translations are the result of proven experience and professional translators, coupled with a dynamic and flexible structure. We have honed our holistic methods for many years to communicate your message as you wish.

the translation process

To achieve our quality goals, we apply the UNI EN ISO 17100 standard on translation services and organize our work in a six-step process.

  • Step 1 Taking the job
The project is taken over by a Project Manager, the central figure of the entire translation process, who will coordinate the various professionals involved in the project. He/she is the point of contact both for the client as well as the linguists and is responsible for ensuring the quality and punctuality of the service. Together with the client, the Project Manager will determine the scope of the text to be translated, the deadlines, and any special requirements for the final product in terms of format or layout. The initial phase includes a detailed examination of the source document to identify potential problematic factors that need to be eliminated or corrected. Project Managers also take care of negotiations and receive formal orders.

  • Step 2 Creating the Project
The Project Manager contacts the translator or team of translators who will work on the project. Translators are selected based on their skills and technical equipment. If necessary, the documents to be translated are converted into editable formats and a translation project is processed within a CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) tool. Translation memories and glossaries are provided to translators.

  • Step 3 Translation
Translations are performed by a translator or pool of professional translators who's mother tongue is the target language. The professionals involved remain in touch with the Project Manager throughout this phase. Project Managers help solve any problems that may have arisen during translation. They function as intermediaries between the translator and the client, ensuring that the final product meets the required expectations and is delivered by the agreed deadlines.

  • Step 4 Revision and proof-reading
Raw translations are then subjected to a precision revision by independent professional revisers. These are typically senior professionals who have a great deal of experience in the field and the relevant language combinations. The source and target texts are compared. We ensure that all segments of text have indeed been fully translated and that the information in the target text is clear, relevant and written in the appropriate style and format. Once this phase has been completed, the text is then re-read one last time without the source. Now we check for flow and legibility in the target language. This two-step process guarantees the quality of the final result.

  • Step 5 QA and delivery
The Project Manager now performs Quality Assurance to ensure that the final product meets the needs of the client. The translation is delivered to the client as per the required medium and format.

  • Step 6 Archiving the Project
The Project Manager and the proofreaders who worked on the project now update the client's translation memories and glossaries. We update the translator database withperformance evaluations. The translation is kept in a dedicated folder in our archives, protected by law.
